US Immigration Raids on Buses in Fort Lauderdale

Greyhound buses permit immigration raids; be very careful getting on this type of transport if you do not have legal status in the United States.   It has been reported that Immigration agents routinely board Greyhound buses to question passengers about their immigration status, removing passengers from buses and arresting them. Greyhound recently has said that the company believes it is “required” to “cooperate with [US Immigration] if they ask to board our buses – statement regarding an incident in Fort Lauderdale January 22, 2018. The following states have reported cases where US immigration officials board Greyhound buses questioning passengers for their documents: California, Washington, Vermont, New York, New Hampshire, Michigan, Florida, Maine, Texas, and Arizona.
